Hi, I'm Jodie Gray Eller—designer and owner of Jodie Gray Interiors.

Interior design has always been my passion and dream career. But when I was younger, I didn’t think it was a realistic path, so I pursued a degree in medical coding and worked in inpatient coding for 11 years. Even then, I found myself spending free time scrolling through Pinterest, decorating my home, or helping friends style theirs. Eventually, I decided to chase my dream—and never dread Mondays again. I enrolled at the New York Institute of Art and Design and launched Jodie Gray Interiors.

I’ve always had a love for decorating, and over time that passion grew into full-room and whole-home design. Even as a teenager, I was drawn to design—HGTV was my favorite channel, and at 15 I decided to paint horizontal stripes on my bedroom wall (it turned out awful, but I’ve never been afraid to take risks!). Since then, I’ve refined my skills, developed my style, and continued to grow as a designer.

I was inspired early on by my dad, who was always a do-it-yourself kind of guy. When I bought my first home in 2016, I followed in his footsteps—learning how to change faucets and light fixtures, build furniture like an island and dining table, and tackle all kinds of home improvement projects. In 2019, I moved from Greenville, NC to Boone with my daughter, Hannah, and then to Wilkesboro in 2020. Since settling in, I’ve designed and redesigned every room in our home—building batten walls, painting (and repainting!), constructing a cabinet and refrigerator surround, replacing bathroom countertops, and more.

I would describe my style as transitional—a balanced blend of traditional charm and modern elements. I love to mix old with new to create timeless, comfortable, and beautiful spaces. I’m drawn to natural elements, layered textures, and thoughtful details—because every detail matters.
